The Headquarters at Seaport Village is a historic landmark that was originally constructed to house the San Diego Police departments headquarters, back in 1939. Nearly 75 years later, with its eclectic blend of classically inspired architectural styles and rich history, the Headquarters was repurposed to become an iconic dining and retail destination. Puesto transformed the original building’s jail cells into a contemporary indoor/outdoor dining experience.

Jaime Partners served as the Construction Managers for the Puesto project, negotiating several change orders from the electrical subcontractor due to modifications made to the kitchen layout. Each change order documented all instructions sent to the subcontractor and filed with the Construction Bulletin including descriptions of tasks and drawings. At the completion of the project, the subcontractor presented change orders totaling $63K. However due to the documentation submitted to the Construction Bulletin, we found nearly 23% of redundancy in the change orders and had them eliminated.
